Spriit Quencher ... Part 3

I trust that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It was so hard to not eat a lot! I didn't win the battle of me vs. the food. The food won. Hopefully you had stronger will than I did. LOL!

Here is the next part in the "Spirit Quencher" lesson. God bless you , hope you enjoy!

Gossip destroys
Proverbs 16:28 (New International Version)
A perverse man stirs up dissension,
and a gossip separates close friends.

We don’t take the sin of gossip as seriously as we ought. We would if we understood it better. Seems like a small sin when compared to others.

It is not a small sin to God.
Romans 1:28-32 (King James Version)
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

What is gossip? Somebody said “it is hearing something you like, about somebody you don’t like”!

Definitions of Gossip: “Idle talk (does it really matter; (“ohhh, did you hear what she did?” or did you see what he did?) or rumor, especially about the personal or private affairs of others.”

When you use your mouth to talk about somebody’s past and mess ups; guess what you are doing; you are going and digging their sin out from under the blood; don’t you go back into the blood and dig it out and show it to everyone and then through it in the person’s face. Leave what is under blood; under the blood! Do you think God tolerates that? I don’t think so, because in order to do that you are going past Him and around Him to get into the blood to dig out mess that should stay there anyway. Therefore you are making yourself better than God! God hates it. Better then that it is an abomination to Him!!

Here is a key to remember: if you have to ask them please don’t tell anybody, then you should not be telling them anything about you or anyone else. If you have to say that to someone, then you can be for sure they are going to tell somebody else. You shouldn’t have to qualify that with a true friend.

I’ve got people in my life that I can tell the deepest parts of my life to and I don’t have to say that.

Don’t go telling everybody your business. If you want attention so bad; get it from God!!

You can sin by gossiping and technically not lie.
Because gossip is simply repeating private information. Most of us know what we’re talking about.

Talk about a person (true or not) showing them in a less than positive light is wrong. “Yea they did good, but…” Whenever a “but” is involved, then it can’t be good.
