Tonight something happened that was really awesome! There was a conference call created by Travis Worthington for Student/Youth Pastors and Workers called "Inspired". It was an oppurtunity for any worker or pastor to get new ideas or strengthen old ones. I'm really excited about the future of this new ministry. Thanks Travis for your burden. It has made a difference and will continue to.
That brings me to my thought for tonight. It's time for youth pastors and workers to really dig down deep our relationship with God. That can only happen thru prayer.
In today's society it is so easy to get caught up in the cares of life that we abondon our relationship with God. How do I know this? Because it's something that I fight with everyday. My flesh teamed up with the devil fight me every morning when I get up. It's my decision which voice I want to listen to. But the battle is usually won or lost in the first few seconds.
If we don't have a daily prayer life then we can not be as successful as God has called is to be. Yes, for a while we will do good, but it isn't annointed. It is only what we've learned to do ourselves. But that will only last for a little while. We must be annointed in our ministries. The only way is to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
So, for the sake of your relationship with God, pray! And those of us that are in youth ministry, we must do this for the sake of the young people.
