School Wars service_11.18.2010

Ashley Elliott tallying points
Last night was our final night of our School Wars services.  Reality UnMasked was the team that prepared and directed the service.  Ashley Elliott and Tawana Daniel, their assistants and team members all did a fantastic job with everything!!  Their service theme was Stop Fakin', which is the Overall Theme (X-Virtual) tag line.

As mentioned in my previous blogs, November is School Wars month.

We divide SWAT (Youth Group) up into teams.  Each week during this month, the different teams have the entire service to plan, prepare and direct.  It has been a HUGE success!  This is year five of our annual School Wars.

Each year seems to get bigger and better.  Also, as mentioned in previous blogs (and the first paragraph of this one), our overall School Wars theme for this year has been X-Virtual: we were challenged to live our lives as people against the majority of today's society.  Today's society is full of "fake" or "virtual" people.  People looking, acting, talking, walking, dressing, etc... like someone or something else.  That is "fake" (virtual).  So we were all challenged this month to be against that mindset or be X-Virtual.

The walls of hell, with souls chained up

Last night, Reality UnMasked did a great job presenting a message that challenged all who were listening.  They challenged us to Stop Fakin' and get right with God.  It's too easy to live the day-to-day life without even noticing all of the hurting people around us.  God has called us (as Christians) to carry His heartbeat.  His heartbeat is souls.  He love us so much that He died for us.

Prop for skit

Satan and his demons are trying everyday to take out as many people as possible.  We must ignore the negative voices and pursue who Christ has called us to be...witnesses.

Part of Reality UnMasked's presentation was a skit of a girl who was in youth service, heard the message, prayed really hard and got right with God, but then when it came to put it into action, things didn't go very well and she missed an opportunity to save a life.  Notice the setting in the picture is of a bedroom.  At home is where we make our decisions on a daily basis to either live this life or not live it.  It is only by making time for prayer and devotion that will keep us focused on the heartbeat of God.  This gives us the ability to hear God's voice throughout our day.  And He will lead us to broken-hearted people.  It is so crucial that we take every opportunity that comes available to us and seize it!!
Great job Reality UnMasked on last night's service.  Great job F.U.T.U.R.E. on last week's service.  You all did a fantastic job.  Lives will be forever changed because of School Wars 2010.

I am very pleased with the result of School Wars.  Great services!  Great participation!  Great leadership!  Great worship!  Everything was AWESOME!!
