What do you drip with?

We typically have "The Crowd" Youth Service every Thursday night at 7:30. But, the last few months we have not, because of special services and lessons for the whole body at CLC. Tonight I was going to talk about "What do you drip with?" And, at some point, I am still going to teach/preach this thought.

The main idea is this:
If you take a bowl of Pepsi, a bowl of Milk, a bowl of OJ, a bowl of Sprite, a bowl of water, and a bowl of Kool Aid .... put a sponge in each bowl .... make sure the sponge gets nice and saturated .... when you pull that sponge out and ring it out .... what is going to come out of that sponge? You are so smart; you're right, "Liquid". Okay, but more specifically, "Whatever liquid the sponge was put in, is going to be what drips out of the sponge."

Now that we're done with discussing the science project, you can very easily see where this is going. When we allow ourselves to be obsurbed with the things of our human/worldly nature, that is exactly what is going to come out of us. If you (as a sponge) dip yourself into school work, then you are most likely going to become a brilliant person and you will drip with "smarts". If you (as a sponge) dip yourself into your career or peruance of success, then that is what you are going to drip with. If you (as a sponge) dip yourself into sports, then you are going to drip with a great talent to play basketball, football, baseball or whatever sport you are consumed with. Now, not every thing that is natural, is wrong. Being smart is not wrong. Persuing a career or success is not wrong. Even playing sports is not wrong. But, are you putting those things before your relationship with God?

What if you dip yourself into teaching Bible studies; you would drip with God's Word. What if you dip yourself into prayer; you would drip with the presence of God. What if you dip yourself into to soul winning; then you will drip with the passion of Jesus Christ! What if you dip yourself into worhsip; you will begin to drip as a worship leader.

It is a very simple thought, but very deep. Simple because, it doesn't take much to do the right thing. Deep, because it takes a deep relationship with God in order to "Drip" with the things of God.

God is not going to make you serve Him. He is not going to make you dip yourself into His "things". You are the only one who is able to dip yourself into the stuff around you. You get to choose. But there are wrong choices and there are right choices. But, whatever you choose, you will "Drip" with it!

That's all for now. More to come next week! God bless you!
